Director of Intensive English Language Program
Crichton College is seeking a Director of our new Intensive English Language Program that is to begin in January 2009.
Position Description: The director will be responsible for the development of the new program’s curriculum and policies, maintaining a quality program, and building strong rapport among the IELP students, instructors, community, and international agents. Duties also include teaching, hiring and supervising instructors, maintaining student, employee, and agency records, administering placement tests, recruiting students and agencies, and developing/upgrading curriculum. The director is responsible for initiating and management of the IELP program’s growth, which includes budget oversight. The director will explore the possibility of seeking accreditation through the consortium of University and College Intensive English Language Programs.
Requirements:
Minimum Masters in TESOL, Linguistics, or English with certification in TESOL or ESL, or a PhD in Applied Linguistics/TESOL or related field
At least 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in an ESL setting
2 years of ESL classroom teaching experience
Understanding of Intensive English Language Program curriculum and programs
Organizational skills
Leadership skills
Native-like English Language proficiency
Excellent written communication skills
International experience, or an interest in international experience preferred
U.S. permanent residency or citizenship
A genuine experience of salvation through trusting the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior
Agreement with Crichton’s Statement of Faith
Active participation in the fellowship of a local church with a desire to know and do the will of God
