September 15, 2008 – Crichton College is pleased to announce the hiring of Marc MacMillan as Head Baseball coach. MacMillan a native to the mid-south, comes to Crichton after serving as head coach at Memphis University School from 1999-2008. During his tenure with the MUS , MacMillan took the Owls to the 2006 Division 2 State Semifinals, and was named 2005 Division 2 West Tennessee Region Coach of the Year. Prior to his high school coaching career, MacMillan was a four year letterman at the University of Mississippi as a utility player (1992-1996). MacMillan currently serves as an Associate Scout to the Seattle Mariners, scouting evaluating local talent and possible Major League prospects. MacMillan will be replacing former Head Coach Brandon Rowan, who has accepted the position of pitching coach at the University of Pittsburgh. “Marc MacMillan is going to be a great addition to our staff, his experience and local recruiting ties should help us continue to elevate our program.” Athletic Director Jeff Walker.
