October 6, 2008 – Crichton College is pleased to announce that it has been accepted for full membership in the Association of Independent Institutions athletic conference (A.I.I).The A.I.I. located in Kansas City Missouri,  is a conference made up entirely of  34 Independent schools scattered throughout the  U.S. and Canada. Crichton's membership was confirmed by the commissioner of the A.I.I Ted Breidenthal. The A.I.I. will sponsor conference player of the week in addition to all-conference teams in each sport. “We are very excited to be a part of this conference and look forward to competing for the A.I.I. conference championships as well remaining a competitor in the  NAIA.” Athletic Director Jeff Walker.  Crichton will participate in men's basketball, baseball, soccer, cross country, and golf, as well as  women's soccer, softball, volleyball and women’s cross country and will be eligible for postseason play through the A.I.I. conference as an independent institution.
